Carly is the Trust’s Safeguarding and Early Help lead.
As well as offering guidance and advice to academy designated safeguarding leads and LAC designated teachers across the Trust, ensuring that all academies understand and fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities, she also manages the Trust’s safeguarding and early help team. Carly and her team aim to deliver a best practice and forward thinking approach to safeguarding within the Trust, ensuring that all pupils, students and their families feel supported and safe.
She has over 15 years of experience working within education, spending the last 10 years specialising in safeguarding and child protection. Her previous roles have included working for a local authority supporting and managing the reintegration of vulnerable pupils at risk of exclusion, providing support and advice to mainstream schools within an early intervention CAMHS Service and holding a pastoral and safeguarding management role within a Pupil Referral Unit.
Carly’s areas of particular interest include safeguarding adolescents with complex social, emotional and mental health needs and further developing ‘pupil voice’ tools for children with social and communication difficulties.
