David is Executive Principal and a member of HSAT's Executive Leadership Team.
David provides support and capacity to the Principals of the Trust's SEMH academies in particular, and quality assurance of school improvement to the Trust generally. He is also an Ofsted Inspector, with a focus on Special Schools.
David has leadership experience as the Principal of an SEMH secondary school, Headteacher of an inner-city, secondary pupil referral unit, senior roles in a mainstream secondary school, the juvenile secure estate and quality assurance for a large local authority. He has also taught in primary schools and an adult prison. His areas of particular interest are special educational needs leadership, curriculum and assessment.
David holds the National Professional Qualifications for Executive Leadership and for Headship, as well as a Master's degree.
