Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of eight academies and one sixth form across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire area serving a population in excess of 1000 students with a broad range of learning difficulties.
Hollis Academy is situated in Middlesbrough and provides for up to 85 pupils aged 11 to 16 years who have SEMHD as their identified primary need. Hollis Academy joined the Trust in October 2016 as a sponsor academy. Since that time, rapid progress towards improvement has been realised due to the commitment of the staff team and senior leadership team and was rated as Good in our most recent Ofsted.
We are seeking to appoint a General Teacher to join our team at Hollis Academy. The successful candidate will work specifically with our nurture group in Year 7. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people and has the patience, resilience and creativity to join our supportive and forward-thinking team. This is a unique opportunity to deliver engaging lessons that equip our students with essential life skills and open doors to future opportunities. Previous experience of working with young people with SEMH or additional learning needs would be an advantage.

- Collaborate with pastoral and therapeutic staff to support pupils’ emotional and social development.
