The Woodlands Academy is now part of Horizons Specialist Academy Trust. The Trust comprises of seven Academies across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire and together we support over 800 children and young people with a range of special educational needs.
As a Special Academy, we believe what we offer to our children, community and staff is unique and enables us to be forward thinking in terms of our curriculum and provision. As a specialist Academy for children with a wide range of SEN needs we have a strong moral compass in everything we do and this has seen us develop and grow our number on roll (currently 133). Our specialisms are predominantly within Autism, Communication Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
Our staff are our greatest asset and we invest in both our teaching and support staff CPD which has placed us in a good position with regards to current educational challenges.
Our Opportunity
Our Academy is growing and is very popular with parents and within the community. We have recently had a successful Ofsted Inspection and have been graded as Good. We are also about to embark upon the redevelopment of The Woodlands Academy which will result in a new purpose built Academy. As a result, we are looking to appoint a highly motivated SEND Administrator to work within our Business Support Team, to support the Academy’s high expectations for teaching and learning and for developing improved services to support children and their families.
Working in our Academy is incredibly rewarding as we all work together as part of the team enriching the education of our pupils. Our staff are highly regarded and we pride ourselves on developing our teams to excel and develop their career through specialised training and career paths.
We encourage applications from candidates who are able to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, flexibility, attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment and be keen to support all aspects of the work of the school.
